Wii Burger

I just read an article at GamesIndustry.net that states that the Wii outsold PS3 4:1 last week. I’m not trying to start a Wii vs PS3 vs Xbox 360 war of words but I am interested to know why you decided to purchase a Wii.

I used to be a moderate gamer, playing titles like War Craft, Age of Empires, SOCOM and Command and Conquer; it all started with Doom way back in the day. I’ve owned 4 game consoles and many computers throughout the years and always found time to play on my own or join friends online for 6 hour of pure goodness at a time. Then I got engaged, married, had 2 kids and gaming just dropped off my radar.

I started hearing about the PS3 and Xbox 360 about a year ago and while I appreciated how far both systems would advance graphics and game play but I didn’t get the itch. I had no intent to purchase another game console. Then I started hearing and seeing reports of the Wii online and something changed. The Wiimote, how cool! Wii Sports titles that I could play with my wife, family, and eventually kids, how cool! I had to get one!

Why did you choose the Wii over PS3 and Xbox 360? If the GamesIndustry article is accurate we’re not alone.
